How Biden and Trump's negotiators teamed up for hostage deal

The negotiators of President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump worked together on a deal to secure a cease-fire in Gaza and free American hostages, despite their previous animosity. The partnership, described as unprecedented, resulted in the release of 33 hostages in the first phase of the deal. Biden's national security advisor Jake Sullivan and negotiator Brett McGurk collaborated with Trump's incoming national security advisor Rep. Mike Waltz and hostage negotiator Steve Witkoff. The talks involved various parties, including Israel, Hamas, Egypt, and Qatar. The deal includes a 42-day cease-fire and the return of American hostages.
