The Health Ministry has published the medical protocol for the reception of hostages from Hamas captivity, outlining the stages of care, treatment, and long-term support. Six designated hospitals will provide initial medical care for the returnees, with a minimum hospitalization period of four days recommended. Separate facilities designed specifically for hostages will be provided, including private rooms for the returnee and their family members. Hospitals will create a permanent medical support framework for each returnee, with a designated medical team comprising various healthcare professionals. The returnees will be closely monitored for health risks such as refeeding syndrome, and personalized dietary plans will be created by dietitians. Psychological guidance and emotional support will also be provided, as well as forensic documentation and medical follow-up from discharge.
