The war in Gaza has caused extensive damage to infrastructure, with many structures and roads destroyed or damaged. Hospitals and medical facilities have also been significantly affected, with 50% of hospitals closed and the remaining ones lacking the ability to treat chronic diseases and complex injuries. The lack of protection for health workers and medical facilities has led to the deaths of around 1,060 medical workers. Additionally, Gaza's mental health centers and psychiatric hospital are no longer functioning, leaving around a million children in need of mental health support. Education facilities and water and sanitation facilities have also been heavily damaged. Rebuilding the strip will be a major challenge, with an estimated cost of $40bn.
