Sotheby's is auctioning off a historic Jewish baseball card collection worth over $500,000. The collection, assembled by Seymour Stoll over 50 years, features over 500 cards representing 191 Jewish players. The most valuable card in the set is an 1867 tintype of Philadelphia Athletics star Levi Meyerle. Some players in the collection are not confirmed to be Jewish, but the archive represents every Jewish baseball player as of the 2024 MLB season. Bidding for the auction is open now and ends on Jan. 25.
