Lebanon's president Joseph Aoun emphasized the need for Israel to withdraw from south Lebanon as per the ceasefire deal that ended the Israel-Hezbollah war in November. Aoun stated that Israeli breaches were a violation of Lebanese sovereignty. The ceasefire, brokered by the US and France, requires Israeli forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon within 60 days. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres assured that the UN would make every effort to ensure an Israeli withdrawal within the set deadline.
