The Orissa high court has ordered the immediate halt of garbage dumping near Sati Chaura in Cuttack city and the closure of a micro composting centre (MCC) near Raghunath Jew Temple. The court has directed the relocation of the MCC and the dumping yard outside the city due to health and hygiene concerns for nearby residents. The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) claims that the dumping yard at Sati Chaura is used as a transit point before being transported to the dumping yard at Chakradharpur. The court has set a deadline for the disposal of the accumulated garbage at the MCC and expects a compliance report by January 28.
