The terrorist who carried out a stabbing attack in Tel Aviv passed security checks by Shin Bet both when applying for his visa and at Ben-Gurion Airport. The terrorist applied for a visa at an Israeli consulate abroad and was denied entry at the airport before being allowed into Israel after an interview with a Shin Bet officer. The Interior Minister has called for an investigation into the incident. The attacker was identified as a US-Moroccan citizen with American permanent residency who entered Israel on a tourist visa.
