Orthodox women are breaking barriers and taking on senior leadership roles in their synagogues, marking a significant milestone for gender equality in religious leadership. Despite facing challenges and obstacles, women in the Orthodox community are making progress and creating models for future generations. Twelve Orthodox women who have graduated from Yeshivat Maharat now serve in senior roles, and others have founded their own communities or lead congregations across the United States and internationally. By addressing systemic barriers and supporting the advancement of women rabbis, the Orthodox community can continue to foster greater gender equality in religious leadership.
