World Jewish Congress President Ronald S. Lauder stated that the antisemitism that led to the Holocaust is still prevalent globally. He emphasized the connection between the hatred faced by Jews during the Holocaust and recent manifestations of Jew-hatred. Lauder also highlighted that antisemitic acts undermine the core principles of civil society and are an attack on Judeo-Christian values. The remarks were made during the solemn commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, attended by representatives from over 50 nations.
