Hamas has confirmed the death of its military chief, Mohammed Deif, who was killed in an Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip last year. The confirmation comes after Israel's military claimed to have killed Deif in August, but Hamas had not confirmed it until now. Hamas has also announced the death of deputy military commander Marwan Issa, whose death was announced by the US in March last year.
