President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy said it will take up to 15 years to rebuild Gaza, after the president proposed making Jordan and Egypt take in 1.5 million Gazans. Trump's real-estate-investor friend, Steve Witkoff, who has business links with Qatar and other Gulf states, visited Gaza and described it as 'uninhabitable.' The U.N. estimates that it could take 21 years and up to $1.2 billion to clear the rubble in Gaza. Both Jordan and Egypt have refused to take in the Gazan refugees, and the proposal is seen as politically explosive.
