French-Israeli hostage Ofer Kalderon, who has spent the last 15 months in Hamas captivity, is expected to be released and return home to his four children. Two of his children were previously released as part of a hostage-ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. Ofer's family has repeatedly called for his release, with his brother even reporting thoughts of suicide. Ofer is described as a doting father and family man who enjoys cycling, hiking, and flying model airplanes. His niece and grandmother were killed during a Hamas invasion in October.
