Sam Abdulrahim, known as 'The Punisher', was shot dead in Melbourne by men suspected to be linked to friends of Kadir Ors, whom Abdulrahim was accused of murdering. Abdulrahim had repeatedly lied in court about his involvement in the murder plot, claiming it was a chance meeting with Ors. He had been targeted in multiple assassination attempts and was involved in Melbourne's deadly tobacco wars. Police suspect Middle-Eastern organised crime bosses were behind Abdulrahim's execution.
