Goa is exporting frozen beef to the Middle East via the Goa Meat Complex, with a consignment of 28.5 tonnes being sent to Iraq. The initiative is part of a partnership between the government-run Goa Meat Complex and Sunface Agrofoods Pvt Ltd. The complex's abattoir has been equipped with advanced blast freezing technology to ensure the beef remains fresh for international transport. Despite Goa's limited supply of cattle, the beef for export will primarily be sourced from neighbouring states such as Karnataka and Maharashtra. The Goa Meat Complex has already submitted applications to export beef to various Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
