Counter-terrorism sanctions have been imposed on the neo-Nazi and white supremacist group Terrorgram in an effort to combat rising anti-Semitism and radicalization. The group, an online network, promotes racially motivated violence and shares fascist content. The sanctions make it a criminal offense to use or provide assets to Terrorgram, with penalties of up to 10 years in prison and heavy fines. This is the first time Australia has imposed counter-terrorism financing sanctions on an entirely online entity. The government is also considering strengthened hate speech laws in response to recent anti-Semitic attacks.
