A court has heard that a journalist who expressed anti-Israeli views was dismissed by the ABC after a push from senior figures, resulting in death threats and the need for private security. Antoinette Lattouf has sued the ABC for unfair dismissal, claiming that she received threats and was forced to hire security after being sacked. The court heard that senior ABC executives discussed how to get rid of Lattouf after pressure from a pro-Israel lobbying group. Lattouf's barrister argued that the ABC breached its own processes and the enterprise agreement by terminating her employment based on her political opinions and race.
