Rahim Al-Hussaini has been named the new Aga Khan, spiritual leader of the world's Ismaili Muslims, following the death of his father. The 53-year-old is the 50th hereditary imam of the Shiite Ismaili Muslims and is considered a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. The Aga Khan Development Network, the spiritual leader's philanthropic organization, works on issues such as health care, housing, education, and rural economic development. Rahim Al-Hussaini has served on the boards of various agencies within the organization.
