A DNA study led by scientists from the University of Vienna and Harvard University has identified the Caucasus-Lower Volga (CLV) population as the best candidate for explaining the origin of the Indo-European language family. The study analyzed the genomic data of 435 individuals from archaeological sites across Eurasia, revealing a process of interaction and integration that led to the emergence of new cultural practices. The findings bridge the gap between the Steppe Theory and the Anatolian Hypothesis, shedding light on the origins of Indo-European languages. The research was published in two separate papers due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
