The Brutalist is a fictitious film about a Hungarian-Jewish architect who survived the Holocaust and faces discrimination in post-WW2 America. Despite being nominated for 10 Oscars, the film is not a success story about the American dream. The architect, László Toth, hopes to build a new life in the US but is brutalized and made to feel like an outsider in a white Protestant society.
