The mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa, plans to exhibit a collection of rare 12th-century coins that were recently restored by the University of Lleida. The coins, made of vellón, were found at the site of the future bus station in Lleida and were issued between 1115 and 1134 CE during the reign of King Alfonso I of Aragon. The restoration process is complex due to the thinness of the coins and the fact that many have adhered to each other. The archaeological excavation also uncovered other findings, including bronze elements, ceramic material, and ancient keys.
