The Shoah Museum in Rome has acquired a defaced Holocaust mural by contemporary pop artist aleXsandro Palombo. The mural, which depicts two Italian survivors of Auschwitz, was repeatedly defaced and erased by vandals. Palombo reproduced the piece, which is now part of the museum's permanent collection. This is not the first time Palombo's works honoring the Holocaust have been vandalized.
