President Donald Trump's administration has secured the release of 11 U.S. hostages held by foreign governments in his first month in office, while former President Joe Biden released over 70 hostages during his four years in office. The hostages released under Trump's administration include Americans detained in Venezuela, Belarus, and a hostage held by Hamas. The number of American hostages currently held is estimated to be in the low 30s. Trump met with one of the released hostages, Marc Fogel, who praised the efforts of the administration and called Trump a hero.
