Passport issuance in Karnataka reached a record high in 2024, with 8.8 lakh passports issued, a 4% increase from the previous year. The Regional Passport Office in Bengaluru has been working at full capacity to meet the growing demand, with the busiest month for issuance being February 2024. The surge in demand is attributed to the increase in international travel following the pandemic, particularly among the 16-35 age group. Other passport-related services, such as police clearance certificates, also saw a rise in applications.
