Hamas releases more hostages in exchange for more than 600 Palestinian prisoners as part of ceasefire deal

Hamas released two hostages in exchange for over 600 Palestinian prisoners as part of a ceasefire deal with Israel. The hostages, Tal Shoham and Avera Mengistu, appeared frail and scared as they were handed over to the Red Cross. Four more hostages were expected to be released later. The delicate ceasefire remains in place despite Hamas initially failing to return the body of Shiri Bibas, a murdered Israeli hostage. Hamas later handed over Bibas' body, claiming it had been misidentified due to Israeli airstrikes.
