Israeli tanks have moved into the Occupied West Bank as part of Operation Iron Wall, with the defence minister ordering troops to remain there for a year and not allow Palestinians to return. More than 40,000 Palestinians have been displaced, buildings and refugee camps have been demolished, and people have been killed since the offensive began on 21 January. This is the first time tanks have entered the West Bank since the Second Intifada in 2002.
