Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral of Oded Lifshitz, an 84-year-old peace activist and former British-linked hostage. Lifshitz was taken by Hamas in 2023 and his remains were returned more than 500 days later. His daughter, Dr. Sharone Lifschitz, has been campaigning for the release of all hostages. Israel President Isaac Herzog pledged to continue working for the release of all captives. Lifshitz was remembered as a peace activist and humanitarian who dedicated his retirement to driving Palestinian patients to Israeli hospitals for medical treatment.
