Protests at Barnard College in New York turned violent as anti-Israel demonstrators clashed with police. The protests, which began after a group of more than 50 agitators took over a building on campus, reignited the following day with around 100 demonstrators gathering in front of the entrance to Barnard. Tension escalated as the protesters marched to CUNY's City College campus, where they attempted to breach police barricades and chanted criticisms of Gov. Kathy Hochul and the NYPD. The protests were sparked by the expulsion of two students who disrupted a Columbia University classroom in January.
