Women are underrepresented in start-ups and hi-tech companies in Israel, with just 17.6% of senior leaders in private hi-tech companies and 24.3% of board members in public companies being women, according to a report by the Israel Innovation Authority. The report also highlighted that only 4.3% of funds raised in the sector went to start-ups led by women. While the number of women employees in the industry has increased over the past decade, the proportion of women out of all hi-tech employees has remained unchanged at around one-third. The report emphasized the need for systemic change to ensure more equitable representation of women in management, entrepreneurship, and investment positions.
