US medical device company Boston Scientific has agreed to acquire Israeli medical device company SoniVie for up to $540m. SoniVie has developed an intravascular ultrasound device that can treat medical conditions related to high blood pressure by selectively denervating nerves around certain blood vessels. The technology has the potential to be more effective and faster than current devices on the market. SoniVie has raised $85m to date and has offices in Rehovot and New Jersey.
