Construction has begun on a 180-foot statue of the Virgin Mary in Poland, which is believed to be the tallest religious structure of its kind. The statue will be 133.2-feet high, sitting on top of a 50-foot-high crown. The location of the statue holds sentimental meaning as it will be near an existing Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The construction is expected to take 18 months.
