The IDF has developed a new system for tanks to protect soldiers from smoke inhalation after incidents of ammunition catching fire inside the tanks. The Tank Administration explored different options and ultimately settled on a compressed air tank, originally designed for helicopter pilots, adapted for tank conditions. The system has been successfully tested in a field trial and is now being equipped for operational use. This breakthrough in armored warfare provides an additional layer of protection for armored soldiers.
