The motion states that neither Paramount nor CBS News are located in Texas, and the production of the interview at the center of the lawsuit had no affiliation with the state. Paramount also argued that the Northern District of Texas is not a proper venue for the case, and that the private and public interest factors support a transfer to the Southern District of New York. In a separate filing, Paramount called Trump's lawsuit 'an affront to the First Amendment and without basis in law or fact.'
