Law chief 'pressed alleged victim to deny sexual assault claims'

The British chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan KC, allegedly pressured his female colleague to retract her claims of sexual assault against him. He bombarded her with calls and suggested that she write a letter disavowing her claims. The alleged victim left the Netherlands and has not returned, fearing continued pressure from Khan and internally at the court. An external investigation was launched in November to examine the allegations, which Khan has denied. There are concerns that the investigation could be hindered if Khan remains in his post.
