Foreign criminals awaiting deportation could be made to wear electronic tags and subject to night-time curfews under new plans set to be unveiled by ministers. The Border Security Asylum and Immigration Bill will allow for tougher restrictions on individuals who have committed crimes or are deemed a threat to the public but cannot be deported. Breaching these restrictions could result in imprisonment. The Conservatives have also proposed amendments to the legislation, including higher income requirements for work visas and restrictions on bringing partners to the UK.
