Israeli negotiators head to Qatar for Gaza truce talks

Israeli negotiators are heading to Qatar for talks on extending the ceasefire in Gaza, after cutting off electricity to pressure Hamas. The first phase of the truce ended with no agreement on subsequent stages, but both sides have refrained from full-scale fighting. There are still significant differences over the terms of a potential second phase, with Hamas calling for immediate negotiations and Israel preferring an extension of the current one. Israel has halted aid deliveries and cut off electricity to force Hamas to release hostages. The war has displaced nearly all of Gaza's 2.4 million people.
