Ireland's proposed Boycott Bill, which criminalizes the import or sale of 'settlement goods' and the extraction of resources from occupied territories, has been at the center of political debate since 2018. The bill, initiated by Irish singer and pro-Palestinian activist Frances Black, has gained support across the Irish political spectrum. The Irish government has recognized the State of Palestine and committed to enacting an amended version of the bill, should they be re-elected. The bill has been criticized for its discriminatory nature, targeting goods and services produced or provided by Jewish individuals in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The Irish Attorney General has stated that the bill is contrary to EU law and in violation of Ireland's constitution.
