The wife of a Columbia University student activist who was arrested by U.S. immigration agents says she was naive to believe he was safe as a legal permanent resident. Noor Abdalla, a U.S. citizen who is eight months pregnant, wants her husband home for the birth of their first child in April. Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian activist, was arrested in retaliation for his advocacy against Israel's military assault on Gaza, according to his lawyers. The Trump administration has accused Khalil of supporting Hamas, but has not provided evidence or charged him with a crime.
