Canada has nominated Stefanie McCollum as the new Ambassador to Syria, in an effort to promote peace and political stabilization in the country. The Canadian Government reaffirms its commitment to support a peaceful and inclusive Syrian-led political transition. Canada's Special Envoy for Syria, Omar Alghabra, believes that Canada can play a meaningful role in enabling Syrians to build an inclusive country.
