The Virginia Museum of History & Culture (VMHC) in Richmond, Virginia, will be opening a new exhibit called 'Give Me Liberty' to commemorate America's 250th birthday. The exhibit will feature rare artifacts dating back to the country's founding, including a silver hilted smallsword, tools, stamps, political objects, and letters penned by George Washington. The exhibit will explore the decade leading up to the Declaration of Independence and examine how the ideas from that era have shaped America's movement toward a more perfect union. Propaganda of the day, such as pamphlets and speeches, will also be on display.
