New DNA evidence has led Italian prosecutors to reopen the investigation into the 2007 murder of 26-year-old Italian woman, Chiara Poggi. The investigation is now focusing on a new suspect, 37-year-old Andrea Sempio, a friend of Poggi's brother. Traces of DNA attributable to Sempio were found under Poggi's nails, and he is being investigated for murder in conspiracy with unknown persons or with Alberto Stasi himself. The case was previously closed in 2017, but new DNA analysis techniques applied to biological samples from the crime scene have prompted a reopening of the investigation.
