The death toll from US strikes on Yemen has risen to 53, according to Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi. The Houthi health ministry spokesperson reported that among the casualties were five children and two women, with 98 people wounded. The US National Security Advisor and Defence Secretary have both defended the strikes, with the latter vowing to continue the missile campaign until Houthi attacks stop. The Houthis have stated that they will continue to target Red Sea shipping until Israel lifts its blockade of Gaza.
