A recent survey by the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute found that a third of Israelis experienced mental distress in 2024, a 9% increase from the previous year. The Israel-Hamas War was a major contributing factor to this distress. However, 88% of those who received professional help from their health maintenance organization (HMO) reported satisfaction with the assistance provided. The survey also revealed that a supermajority of respondents praised their HMO and the healthcare system as a whole. Availability and wait times varied across different regions, with some respondents experiencing long wait times and skipping medical treatment as a result. The survey also highlighted the rise in telemedicine usage and provided HMO-specific findings on wait times and member satisfaction.
