A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to halt the planned deportation of a Georgetown University scholar accused of spreading Hamas propaganda online. The judge ruled that the scholar, Badar Khan Suri, cannot be removed from the United States until the court issues a contrary order. Suri, an Indian citizen, was detained in Louisiana and is a postdoctoral scholar student in the US on a student visa. The Department of Homeland Security accused Suri of actively spreading Hamas propaganda and promoting antisemitism on social media.
