The detention and deportation of foreign students at US universities, such as Srinivasan and Suri, for their support of Palestine is causing concern for the future of international students in the country. With over 1.1 million foreign students contributing $43.8 billion to the US economy and creating 378,000 jobs, they are not a burden on the taxpayer. Additionally, many of these students study STEM subjects, helping to address America's shortage of citizens in these fields. The loss of international students would not only impact the economy but also America's soft power and influence.
