Jonathan Polin, father of Hersh Goldberg-Polin who was murdered in Hamas captivity, criticized the hostage negotiations and expressed support for Shin Bet head Ronen Bar. Polin believes the government did not give a sufficiently broad and serious mandate to the Israeli negotiating team. He previously praised Bar for his personal accountability and commitment to bringing home the hostages. Hersh Goldberg-Polin was kidnapped in October and found murdered in September along with five other hostages.
