A new book titled World of the Right: Radical Conservatism and Global Order explores the rise of the New Right and its global alliance. The New Right is driven by anti-intellectualism and a disdain for experts, promoting a vague anti-elite discourse. The book highlights the New Right's efforts to capture universities, publishers, and think tanks, as well as its opposition to the Liberal International Order. New Right leaders, such as Bolsonaro and Bannon, participate in global conferences to showcase their connections and generate energy and commitment. The New Right borrows from different ideologies, including effectively appropriating Marxist thinker Gramsci, to counter liberal thought and create a new elite in its own image.
