US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will send a second aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, to accompany the USS Harry S. Truman in the Middle East region as strikes on the Houthi terrorist organization in the region intensify. The Vinson was previously based in the Pacific Ocean and is expected to arrive in the region next month. This will be the second time in the past half-year that two carrier ships will be stationed in the Middle East. The US airstrikes are aimed at getting Iran's attention and pressuring the Houthis to stop attacking US ships and drones.
