Pope Francis has appeared on his hospital balcony before being discharged after a five-week battle with double pneumonia. The 88-year-old Pontiff was admitted to Rome's Gemelli Hospital on February 14 and was later diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs. He waved to the crowd gathered outside the hospital before bidding farewell to the staff. Doctors have said that he will need at least two months to recover from the illness. The Pope will reportedly need to 'relearn to speak' after using oxygen throughout his hospital stay.
