Rafael Hayon, a Netivot resident, has warned the IDF about the growing sophistication of Hamas. Hayon claims that Hamas now operates underground and records everything in real time, while also smuggling weapons in undetectable ways. He informed Israeli security officials in 2023 about military activity in the Gaza Strip after intercepting communications between Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Hayon believes that Hamas has altered its combat strategy and is becoming more dangerous every day. He expressed concern that the situation in the Gaza Strip is not being clearly communicated to the public.
