Law firm targeted by Trump could have been 'destroyed,' chairman...

The chairman of law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Garrison & Wharton, Brad Karp, revealed in an email that he made concessions to the Trump administration to save the firm from potential destruction. The firm was targeted by a White House executive order that threatened the suspension of security clearances and termination of federal contracts. In a meeting with Trump, Karp agreed to dedicate $40 million worth of free legal services to support the administration's agenda and to not pursue diversity, equity, and inclusion considerations in hiring. The firm's decision has faced backlash from the legal community.
